Don't know whom to contact or how to make a change to your benefits? This page will help you find the answers to some of the most frequent questions we receive in the benefits area of the Department of Human Resources.

Q: Whom do I contact about a claim?

A: Please contact the benefit provider first, as the provider has access to your claim information.  For provider contact information, visit the Benefit Provider Web Sites & Contact Information page.

Q: How long do I have to decide upon my benefit package once I start working at Marquette?

A: You must select and sign up for your benefits within the first thirty (30) days of employment. This time limit is set by the contracts with our providers and cannot be waived.

Q: What if I need to change my benefit plan?

A: Benefit plans can only be changed at two times: (1) a qualifying event occurs; or (2) during the annual enrollment period.

Q: What is a qualifying event?

A: A qualifying event is a significant change in your personal or family status. Examples of such events are marriage, divorce, birth of a child, graduation of a child, etc.

Q: Can I speak to someone in the benefits department?

A: Absolutely. Please contact a member of the benefits staff or visit our offices in Straz Tower, Room 185.
