ABOUT THE PARENTS ASSOCIATION

The Marquette University Parents Association was created in 1955 to engage current and past parents of Marquette students in relationship with the university.

The purpose of MUPA is to establish avenues of communication between parents and the university by which information may be exchanged, items of interest may be discussed, opinions may be expressed, and elements of mutual concern may be examined.

PARENTS ASSOCIATION TESTIMONIALS

The first time I attended Mass at the Joan of Arc Chapel with other Marquette parents, I knew I was home. Through prayer, discussion, and volunteer work with the Parents' Association, I feel more connected to my son and daughter at Marquette.

Being on the Parents Association Board is an excellent way to stay involved while your kids are in college. The biggest difference between the Parents Association at Marquette and the High School PTO is that this is really easy! Marquette has a wonderful staff to support us and the work we want to do.

Lynn Peterson-Dux
Parents Association Board Member since 2003

I don't remember how or why we found out about joining the Parents Association Board, but we are glad that we did! Serving on the Parents Association Board has provided us a way to be better informed about the goings-on at Marquette. It has also been a great way to meet other parents. We realized that we parents all face similar challenges and opportunities shepherding our children through Marquette. This helps. We have also been able to meet many of the University staff and get to know them. That's important because they affect what happens to our students.

We also learned how Marquette is truly student-oriented and how the staff and faculty look out for each student as a whole person. We share the values of Marquette's Jesuit tradition. That's why we urged the younger brother and sister of our first MU student to consider Marquette. I don't think we would have appreciated Marquette as much as we do if we hadn't gotten involved with the Parents Association Board.
